SUSAN CHAPMAN-HUGHES

As EVP and GM of Global Digital Capabilities, Transformation and Operations in the Global Commercial Services division at American Expres, Susan leads a global team responsible for managing, optimizing and transforming the customer experience for commercial clients. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Real Estate and Workplace Enablement for American Express. While at American Express, she has held various leadership roles in the American Express Executive Women’s Network.  Prior to joining American Express, Susan served as Global Chief Administrative Officer for Citi Realty Services (CRS), a division of Citigroup, Inc.

In addition to her professional roles, Susan is committed to volunteer work for nonprofit and community development organizations across the United States and remains an active mentor to young people in her community.  She serves on the Boards of The National Trust for Historic Preservation, A Better Chance and Girls, Inc.

She also serves as a Director for Potbelly Corporation. Susan has received numerous awards for her achievements and for her volunteer work.  She was named to Grio 100 list by Grio.com/NBC Universal, as one of the "100 Most Creative People in Business" by Fast Company, as one of the “75 Most Powerful Women in Business” by Black Enterprise Magazine and as one of 12 "Women of Excellence" by the National Association of Female Executives and Entrepreneurs (NAFE).

Susan holds a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
