"CONVERSATIONS" OVERVIEW

"Conversations" events are held in an intimate atmosphere in order to encourage open dialogue and a lively exchange of ideas and information. Each event is limited to approximately 75 attendees and is "by invitation-only." The highlight of each event is a "Conversation" between and among the Forum's guest for the evening, a prominent national or international leader, and the participants. Each "Conversation" focuses on how women leaders can meet specific challenges and opportunities so they can excel, professionally and personally, and help their organizations and society to thrive. Each event is held in an elegant, yet informal, "living room" setting and concludes with a reception.

An Intimate Evening of "Conversation" with
Beth Brooke, Global Vice Chair, Ernst & Young

"Women in Leadership in the 21st Century"

Beth Brooke has been repeatedly recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of "The World's 100 Most Powerful Women" as the result of a distinguished career of public and private service.

As Global Vice Chair of Ernst & Young, Beth helps to manage one of the largest private companies in the world, with over $18 billion in revenue and more than 114,000 employees in 140 countries. Her focus is on developing the firm's strategic direction and shaping its public policy decisions. Within E&Y, Beth has been an innovator and force for change. She spearheaded the creation of the E&Y Corporate Social Responsibility Group and has been a long-time advocate of women's initiatives, diversity, inclusiveness and workplace flexibility. These initiatives contributed to Ernst & Young consistently being recognized by Fortune as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For." Beth is also a member of Ernst & Young's Global Practice Management Group and its Americas Executive Board.

During the Clinton Administration, Beth served as an advisor to the President, working within the Department of the Treasury on significant public policy issues. She serves on the Boards of The White House Project (an organization that aims to advance women's leadership in all communities and sectors - up to the U.S. presidency); TechnoServe (whose mission is to help entrepreneurial men and women in poor rural areas of the developing world); The Committee for Economic Development; The Atlantic Council of the United States and The Partnership for Public Service. She also serves on the Women Leaders Program of the World Economic Forum and the National Women's Leadership Hall of Fame Advisory Council. She is a member of the inaugural class of the Henry Crown Fellows of The Aspen Institute and a member of the Committee of 200.

Beth is a sought-after international speaker; she travels around the globe speaking on public policy issues, including the status and future of women's leadership at the beginning of the 21st century. She will address the current status of women's leadership in business, politics and beyond and how that status will progress and evolve; how women and men view leadership roles differently; how society views women and men differently as leaders; and the importance of women making a difference and shaping the future. Beth will also allow a significant amount of time for a free-flowing discussion of issues raised by the participants/leaders in attendance.
